Tim Brown
Tim Brown travels the world over to develop a career that promotes his work and his love of adventure. A native of Rhode Island, Tim now lives in Colorado when he's not paddling the world's rivers or trekking through exotic locales. While his photography provides him with a means to support his passion for travel and exploration, he only "stumbled upon an interest for extreme sports" as he continued further west. He claims it's the environment; that "mountain life" tends to bring out the transience and adventure in people, whether it be Maine, Colorado or Nepal.
"My life as an adventure travel photographer began just out of school as I hit the road for the great American
West. Passing through a small Colorado mountain town, I landed a job photographing kayaks and rafts on whitewater rivers. Every day for three months I hiked into a canyon, stood at a rapid and photographed every type of river craft that passed by. So I bought a kayak, took some lessons, figured out how to bring along my Nikons and put myself in the river. Not only did this fine tune my photography skills, it also aroused my curiosity about the art and adventure of running wild rivers. And, it satisfied my physical and emotional desire for extreme adventure. My first expeditions brought me to the desert canyons of the Southwest. Huge white water amidst shear canyon walls made for excellent photo ops under dynamic lighting."
